Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, February 11, 2004 8:06 PM
ey guys, i went to the hobby shop and saw a Tamiya german panzerkampfwagen iv and a marder III... they have 1 kits for each model left. should I buy them or not? I'm still working on the British Challenger I right now... do these models have great results?

avuo, the Marder III is a fantastic model. It's the one erock (or was it erush??) just won the Atlanta show with. He's got pics of it on here somewhere. Maybe someone can find the link for his build. He did an unbelievable job! I've never built the iv, but I'm sure its a good model. After all, it's Tamiya!

Good luck with whatever you get.

I am in the process of building the Marder right now and am very happy with the kit. Erush's did look awesome. I would say if you can get them both but if not then I can only speak for the Marder right now.

If you want them go out and buy them is my motto. It's always nice to have a stockpile of models in your closet.

Nothing personal avuo, but you probably could save a lot of money if you ordered it online. I know you have to wait, but money can add up. Shipping won't cost any extra for multiple kits either. The Panzer IV is an older kit, but the Marder is supposed to be a sweet kit. I have the Marder III M, it's quite nice. Good luck.

thanks tigerman. I'm from the Philippines so i guess they'll charge me for the shipping, don't they? or is it free anywhere in the world? what i like about the Panzer IV is that it has about 5 figures with it which I can use if i build a diorama for it. costs much higher than the MArder though..

Certainly not online. The only online hobby shop here (as far as I know) sells RC kits and accessories. I am not sure about how the prices would compare between here and there but if your shop gets the Tamiya kits directly from the Tamiya Factory down there then I would assume that it would be a little bit cheaper.

Sorry avuo, I didn't realize you were overseas. You're probably right it would cost more to ship overseas. Good luck , sounds like Dwight is taking care of you. No biggie, but you might want to update your profile and list your location, it helps at times if you know where a fellow member lives. Take care.

avou,

That sounds almost the same as the price of a Marder 3M here in Manila. Well, yes I get most of my kits from Lil's but I am getting to know some shops around the Metro as well.
