Need Jerry can load for my Red Ball Express
Posted by philp on Thursday, February 12, 2004 1:07 AM
Help,
I need a full load of Jerry cans for my deuce and a half in Red Ball Express markings. I thought I saw a resin set that was a full load you just paint and drop in back but I can't seem to find this. Does this exist or am I going to have to use the Tamiya or Italeri kits and cast my own?
Thanks for any help.

I did a similar build, as you know (since you posted there a time or two Wink [;)]) not long ago-- here's the result:

I never found any one piece set for the jerry cans...so I just took a piece of styrofoam and cut it to the size of the bed-- painted it black and glued it into the bed-- and put a layer of cans on top-- gave it a pretty good bit of depth. Make sure you are in no rush when assembling all those cans LOL

And given the choice, the Italeri cans are better than the Tamiya cans. The tamiya cans had the wrong number of handles on them.

Phil, I remember seeing that one piece resin "cargo load" for some vehicle. I'm thinking when the Famo came out it was for it so it might have german stuff if you can find it. I can't remember at all who made it either. Sorry I'm not much help but you're not imagining things!!

I think I'd build a couple of the Italeri cans and cast the rest in resin myself, but then I'm a little on the lazy side. Can't help with the one piece load, I've never seen it.
