Painting vinyl track with acrylics only?

I've never has a problem with an acrylic wash.

Not sure if it has been discussed before, but here I go: Anyone knows a method (or guide) for painting vinyl tracks with acrylics only? The methods I've seen on the net involve thinner-based paints at some point. I was painting my 1/72 Chaffee tracks and they suddenly broke after the washes (already got a replacement and I don't want this set to get broken as well), a friend told me that it was because of the enamel washes, so I was thinking about using acrylics, but I've never done acrylic washes before, so I want to know about somebody who already has experiece with this. The new gluable vinyl type tracks by both Tamiya and AFV Club have proven to be quite fragile in my experience. All the ones that I have built and painted have eventually brokenn while sitting on the model within a few months of painting completion. After the first time it happened, I used only acrylics on these types of tracks, and it has still happened since then in every case. My advice? Find suitable replacement tracks of another type- , indy link or link and length, in plastic or resin, or Fruils.

Yes, the old format was superior. I dont like having to click another link if I want smilies, italics, quotes, hot links, etc. K.I.S.S. was not followed here. The new mobile app is weak. While the new format is more compatable with my phone or Ipod, I go to full site off my phone becuase that is the only way I can somewhat rapidly access "my forums", "recent discussions" and  view "most recent post" on any given thread...

Exactly why I'm not here as much anymore.

The last time I tried acrylics on vinyl track, it flaked off so I never tried it again. Enamels works for me.

I hate vinyl tracks but if I have to use them I always put down a primer coat from a rattle can first that seems to help the top layers hold on better.  My last Tiger I kit had vinyl tracks and I sprayed down gray primer then a German Grey color and then applied my washes & pastels on top of that.  It held up fine and nothing flaked off.
