Metal tracks are great, especially to achieve the sag on German and Soviet armor, some guys use upholstery pins to achieve the pivot,I prefer using the kit supplied wire, never had a problem. They can be tedious, just do a few here and a few there rather then trying to tackle the whole run in one shot. Some guys also use a burnishing liquid to weather them.Blacken it,AK makes one and there are others.Theybare not cheap, especially if you are spending $40.00 already on the tracks.I prefer just to paint them and weather them with regular paints, pigments, and washes then sanding the high points to expose the metal on worn areas.
I only used metal barrels a few times and they look good and are easier then removing a seam down the whole length of a two piece barrel. But then again there is the price.A company named RB has metal barrels at a good price.sometimes minor surgery is needed to use a barrel, but most of the time they drop right in.
An interesting project you have there. I have both those Trump kits in the stash and will look forward to see it goes.
I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

After spending lots of time trying to and researching the proposed German E series of tanks I have decided on a project of building them.
My first three would be the E-50 .
For these I am going to use Trumpeter's E-50 Kit
http://www.trumpeter-china.com/a/en/product/armor/1_35_Series/2010/1118/1530.html
on each vehicle I will be replacing the elastic band tracks with firulmodels ones
http://www.friulmodel.hu/en/atl-37-tiger-ii-late-e-50-e-75-e-50-flakpanzer-i41/
The first model is to be as the kit, but with a metal L71 88m from here

The second will have an 88m L91

The third one will be different.
The last in the series will be the Trumpeter Kit but will have a Tiger II turet fitted and a 105mm gun from this place

I have never used metal tracks or barrels before and would welcome some advice on this, plus I would like to know which KT Turret to use and possible problems that I might ned to overcome.
I will also do the E75 too in 88, 105 & 128mm. What barrel should I use for the 128mm. The kit one just looks a bit too short and I have been considering one from Trumpeters AT guns
Thanks for any advice
