Got the DML King II P, still wondering what all the fuss is about the quality of their Kits.

Maybe if the kits over here were also 1/3 of the Tamiya prices I might change my mind, so far I am not too impressed with the kit or the instructions
But at 120%+ of the Tamiya offering I will think twice before another DML kit.

Already ditched their tracks and added the Tamiya Track Set. Big Smile [:D]

I also like the models (certain things) from the commu-block countries. for example, I think the Zveda horses and figures can be amazing! (cheap too)

Agreed with DML, they are better (in my book) than Tamiya.

You said it. I can live with a few sink marks and badly placed ejector pin marks if they are in a place that can be fixed. Whilst DML is not 1/2 the price here, the saving against Tamiya still goes a long way toward another kit.

I still can't believe that Tamiya thinks that an extra sprue on an old kit (read Universal Carrier (figures), Churchill (new figures but sans trailer even!!!), Sdkfz 222 (barrel and grills), etc, is licence to double the price of the old kit. Even the 'new' M113 has the old innaccurate hull!

Sure the Dragon Wagon and Famo with trailer are great kits, but at AUD $200 (USD $160 ) they are well beyond the budget of a lot of people.

I completely agree. I am keen to try DML, 'cos I can only afford the cheaper Tamiya kits here in Oz.

And I am jealous too, Kenneth. Let us know how they build, 'cos I am tossing a double or maybe triple 251 diorama around my head and would love the info!

I'm with you Kenneth.. Cool [8D]

The postal chick brought me a DML Tiger II P and their new Hanomag today...

The 251 is HOT. The box is same size as the tiger and has WAY more parts. It includes a rifle squad and huge amounts of personal gear including clothes and boots that are draped...VERY COOL!!! The driver seats even have the little springs molded into the backs... It looks very very well done. It also has some options such as armor plate for the front axle and tie rods.

The Tiger is as well done.. It has etched screens and real indi links not the length and link like the E-100. Those instructions are wild though.. I don't know whether to use'em or hang them in a picture frame... For those not familar with the new DML fad... some of their kits have full color instructions that feature exploded views of the actual kit rather than a drawing.

I am excited about these new kits... hopefully the Dragon Tigers will give Tamiya a run being that they are half the price and have indi links and etched included. I am no rivit counter so the negligable errors that the kit might have are fine with me as long as it looks right.

Peace
