Help I.D. this tank tool, M41 Walker Bulldog, Tamiya

Can anyone help I.D. the tool that attaches to the left side of the turret on the M41 in this kit? Tamiya instructions call it out as part B33, to be colored flat brown. Looks to me like it needs a little more detail than that, but not knowing what kind of tool it is, I'm not sure how to proceed. Is it a sledge, as it appears?
