question for the Stug specialists
Posted by jgeratic on Thursday, November 22, 2012 1:35 PM

I'm interested in building a 1/35  Stug III D and was wondering if anyone knows if Dragon's E version can be back dated to that one?

The C/D version can be found on evil bay, but with the approaching special sale for Black Friday I might be able get a better price, but only the E version can be found at internet hobby shops.

regards,

Jack

It can be back dated, but would be easier to buy the D kit.  The hull front and sides need to be changed, along with a list of details that were different.

I agree with Bronto you'd be looking at changing so much it just wouldn't be worth it, if you want that much work you'd be as well to scratch build the whole thing!

I just noticed one on Ebay for about $20 including shipping

Thanks guys.  I thought there was a possibility that the latter kit was just a re-box with an added sprue to bring it up to E standards, but sounds like this is isn't so.

Clay, it's okay as it looks I'll be going to ebay.  Squadron store is showing the StuG. III Ausf E as being out of stock, and atm Spruebrothers is only listing specific kits available for Black Friday sale.

Jack
