Nice dio. As pointed out by Rob and Roy it can be easy to forget the technical details in the heat of the moment of creating a dio. Especially when you want to include so much in a tiny snapshot, but for practical reasons we cannot make the base the size of a kitchen table! In one aspect the infantry may be that close if the Ferdinands are about to be over-run in hand to hand combat. Great effort and hope to see your future work

Glad you were right .Never gave a thought to the infintry being tha close to a tank.

lower the gun on the one elephant.

Crunchies!  I love it.  My workmates (tankers) confirmed this as well!  They also said "speed bumps"

Gallows humor

The Elefant was also a direct fire weapon (much like a soldier's rifle). The one with the gun tube sticking up in the air looks like it's "duck hunting".

We often called dismounted infantry "crunchies" for the reasons Roy states.

I do know nothing clears annoying friendly troops away from your tank faster than the main gun going off.

If I can make a suggestion about composition.  Working alongside AFVs is an extremely dangerous course of action for infantrymen.  1) they attract lots of artillery 2) when they fire, the concussion of the cannon can kill nearby soldiers. 3) they start and stop, jut and jar w/o warning.  Soldier's don't huddle near any moving AFV or SPG or they become pancakes quickly.

Hi stikpusher,both Elephants are dragon armor painted dark yellow.one has rotbraun camo,

the other has dark green.the figures are from revell.if you look at the top left corner i scratch

built barbed wire from a piece of fiberglass window screen.btw these are 1/72 scale kits.
