Photos of T19 or M3 75mm with wheels with chains?
Posted by tenthumbs on Saturday, December 15, 2012 7:18 PM

I have a set of tank workshop tires with chains that I would to use on the U.S. halftracks. I have the Dragon T 19 and M3 with the 75mm antitank. I have not found any photos if they ever had to use chains. What I have found is fighting in Tunisia. Is there a legitimate  situation I could use them?

The T19 was only used in the early part of the war. Mainly used in North Africa, it was replaced by the M7. A few T19s were used early in Italy. The odds on a T19 with chains on the wheels are very slim.

That is what I have come up with so far also.  How about the M3 in the anti tank role?

The Marines used the M3 75mm till the end of the war in the Pacific. With the mud in the jungles and the sand on the beaches I am sure they used chains.

Hey jeepman, I found that Archer transfers prints up a set for a M3 75mm in Bougainville, they have a photo with chains.
