thanks.
well that's what i thought as that is how it is on the german 150. but, in addition to the 2 pivots, it has an attachment in the center as well that doesn't appear to be a pivot but could be a lock. there would have to be movement allowed. the color diagram in the instructions show it sticking out too. with the paint it may be difficult to move. guess i could lay down some ground cover and have it sitting on a stump.

Nice looking cannon. One small thing you might be able to fix - when not hooked to a vehicle, the front draw bar / towing hook would be lowered to the ground. It is mounted on a pivot, and there is no lock for it to remain straight out towards the front like it is.

a basewood strip and i added four feet. stained in chestnut brown which i got at Guirey's paint store in the discount area. $2 for a quart. may put some ground material on it. it's held on with blue tack. just something for easier handling.

this is the trumpeter kit. the instructions are better than the sFH-18 as they clearly define travel vs fireing mode difference. i assumed the stakes on the top and right side were aiming posts and painted them accordingly. adds some color. sliding the barrel assembly onto the carraige after painting is always tight and needs touchuo. biggest headache was the 4 brackets holding the gun shield. they fold into an L before shaping. bottom 2 were fine, just an angle fold. top 2 have an angle fold going into a complex curve. trashed them so i replaced them with styrene strips and no L. seems the 152mm gun has the same setup and the ipms review noted the same issue. added some dirt on the trails and spades, washed with MMA black wash and dusted with powders.
