Zimmerit Help
Posted by L.Boehm on Thursday, February 28, 2013 7:40 PM

Can anyone make out if the panther's in this photo have zimmerit on them or not? Everytime I can't see zimmerit I'm usually wrong.

Thanks in advance, Liam

Those are early Panther A's, they would have zimmerit.

If that's all you're going off of than I'm afraid that is incorrect.  Few Ausf A's left the factory with the letterbox hull MG port and without Zimmerit anti-mine paste applied. The few early A's without zimmerit were produced in August of 1943. They were all assigned to 23rd Panzer-Regimnt, which was part of Schweres Panzerregiment Bäke. That photo is of the Schweres Panzerregiment Bäke, can anyone confirm that these Ausf A's are without zimmerit, I know the 701 is.. as we can see it here.

Yes, a FEW, if you are trying to prove they don't, then a clearer picture is needed I think.  Is this picture published in a book somewhere we can get a better look at it?  Try posting this on Missing-Lynx axis forum.  Someone there might have a clearer answer for you.
