some time ago Verlinden had a conversion kit for either the m107 m109 or m110 that was a short barrel.does any one remember what calaber that gun was an where might I fine a metal barrel that size.
If I remember correctly (and probably don't), The M-107 was 105MM (4 in), the M-109 was (and still is) 155mm (6 in) and the M-110 is 203MM (8 in). The M109A-1, A-2 and A-3 were short barreled while the M109A-4, A-5 and the current A-6 Paladin are long barreled.
They also made a conversion for the M107/M110 to make a M578...

Is this the variant you are trying to replicate?
The Verlinden set #423 was designed to make the long barreled M107 into the short barreled M110A1 or long barreled M110A2. The gun tubes in the kit were resin and not metal.
Barrel Depot did a long barrel M110A2 turned aluminum gun tube, but I do not know if they did the short barrel.

Not sure what the Verlinden M578 kit has to do with the search for a metal tube for an M110 though...
The M110A2 was reissued recently, which is good news, but now I need the short gun for it to make a Vietnam-era A-nothing out of it...
Have a nice day

Italeri eventually made the M110, M110A1 and M110A2 as separate kits. The M110A1 was a longer barrel for greater range and also giving the ability to fire different types of projectiles. The A1 had problems with the amount of recoil causing structural problems. The A2 employed the longer barrel with a double muzzle brake added. The muzzle brake solved the problem.
