Help to find truck for diorama
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, February 17, 2004 3:17 PM
I am looking for a 1/35 scale military truck with a generator on the back for a diorama that I am building. Anyone got any ideas?

WW2 or modern? I've got several modern military generators, both trailer and skid mounted. I don't think I've ever seen a truck dedicated as a generator vehicle. We use both 2½ and 5 ton trucks to pull the trailers depending on the size of the generator.

You might want to try and kitbash or scratch build a generator for any one of the M-34 through M900 series trucks available out there..Try Scale Equipment Limited, they make a great line of 1/24//1/25 scale auto acessories and used to have generators,, depending on the type of generator you are looking for. Also might want to check out the Italeri field repair kit for all sort of goodies to go with the truck..

Thanks for the replies.

Rob,

It would be a post WWII type and trailer mounted would be fine. The ones I have seen on trucks were there for special projects such as driven to a guided missile launch site on launch days only. And this was the for Navy not a typical Army truck. I will need to find something in 1/35 scale. Thanks again.
