My Goodness! (updated 5/4/13)

For about the cost of this:

I got this!

Yup, my biggest hit ever. Sorry to gloat, but when you're buying brand new Dragon kits for just $5 each, it's pretty hard to keep it yourself.  Wink14 kits for $65!!

This guy ran an ad on Craigslist and I had to wait 5 days until I could get to his house, worrying the whole time that I would miss out. When I got there, my jaw dropped. The ad didn't show many of what was for sale, mostly Tamiya kits, but I crossed my fingers. The sad part is that I will trade or sell all but maybe a couple of kits. I took the vast majority of the newer sealed Dragons. I left probably another 25 of mixed bag of Italeri, Tamiya, Trumpeter and Dragon kits. I told him I might be back. Devil

For the record, the guy got them as part of an Apartment bid, much like a storage locker bid. He knew they were worth more, but wanted to dump them.

Nice! ...and one for free? It's probably a good thing I can't find kits for $5 each as my stash would be enormous. Stick out tongue

Exactly Dave. My stash is around 35 or so, before this purchase. No way I'll ever get to build them all, because I keep buying.

I was very happy about the Pz III H. I bought the J, but it had no Afrika Korps decals with it and I really wanted to build one of them. So bye bye to the J. I don't need to build the whole family . LOL

Yeah, I'm a little jealous as it's one of the last kits I purchased (Pz III Ausf H - same kit) for $31. And I thought I did well at that! Hmm

Dave, I recently bought the Hummel smart kit shipped to me from a seller for just $25!  I thought I made out like a bandit.

Hey Eric, is it the 24th PD Ausf J. (6394)? If so, I might be willing to take it off your hands as I've wanted to do a Stalingrad Pz III for quite some time...

Agh. Nope it's #6463 the Initial J. Still looks to be a sweet kit though.

Great score, but the sad part is the cost of those kits would have probably covered the amount of rent that was due!

Now that's what I call an insta-stash! There are some nice kits there for sure, the Bison II in particular is getting harder to find these days surprisingly.

Thanks guys. It was definitely about as good as it gets. Last year I bought 40 kits for about $30,  but about 20 of them were Dragon figures and the armor was mostly stuff I didn't care about. I ended up only keeping a Dragon 20mm gun that I plan to use as a kitbash. The rest were sold on ebay, which of course in turn, produced kits I was searching for.

I'm now looking into doing the same. I still want a BT-7 and a Valentine.

Sounds like you've got the perfect funding operation going Eric! Just selling a couple of those kits ought to net you enough cash to pick up the BT-7. Sell the whole lot and the Valentine too! Wink

Hmmmmm , that's one heck of a hall bro .

The seller wasn't a model builder by the sounds of it .

Never tried Craigs myself .

Think I'll look into it .
