M42 "Duster" at Corrigan, Texas

I was on my way to Houston, Texas last week when I spotted this beauty sitting by the side of the road in front of the Corrigan, Texas VFW.  I had no idea what she was, but determined to find out.  On my way back, I snapped a few photos and then did some research online.  She's one of those AFVs you don't see much about, but Korean and Vietnam veterans would probably recognize her instantly.  Smile

No information on this particular vehicle or where she served.

I haven't seen one in desert tan before. One of our local National Guard Armories here has one out front in the four color camo scheme.

I first ran across a Duster at Fort Drum, NY in 1984 and 85. They were still in use by the Army National Guard's 50th Armor Division as short range air defense.

The armory that I was referring to is in Portsmouth, Virginia. They are also an air defense unit but I think that they transitioned to Stinger mounted Humvees or something of the sort. The Avenger, I believe.
