Any thoughts on which is a better kit for detail, fit, PE etc.
You might want to have a read of this, its a good comparison review. It does say the detail on the AFV kit is much better.

I have the Tamiya kit myself, I got that before I read this review. Aber does two rather comprehensive PE sets for it, which may well work on the AFV kit.

Thanks Bish, this is the article I was hoping for. AFV it is.
Its a great site with lots of decent reviews. I have bought a few kits based on what's been said there. It always has a good new release section. Defiantly a site worth putting in your favourites.
It's on my list, thanks.
For well over a decade, it's been my first stop for 1/35 scale armor reviews. If Terry doesn't have it on his site, then I look elsewhere.
I agree that Terry gives the most in-depth reviews. Fantastic knowledge and observation.

Only bad thing I dislike about AFV Club kits is the last few I've built were covered in injection pin holes. Probably not an issue on a Sturmtiger but on the M18 and M40 I've been working on they're really annoying since as open-top vehicles you have to fill a bunch of them.

I didn't care much for their directions and they seemed over-engineered IMO.

Very true. The only downside I see is his use of run on sentences. Chuck a period in there and hit the enter key once in a while!
