Airborne jeeps, trailors, and cannons
Posted by Shipwreck on Thursday, May 30, 2013 2:47 PM

I am building a diorama of a WACO glider in a French field during the Normandy invasion. The WACOs delivered, infantry, jeeps, trailers, or 75 mm cannons. Does anyone know if the jeeps were ever used to haul a trailer and a cannon hitched to the trailer?

Thanks for any info you might have on this.

IIRC, the jeeps were used to tow either in the Glider Artillery units, but not both at the same time. The glider payload would not  allow all three to be delivered in the same glider. Also there is no tow pintle on the trailer to allow all three to hook up at once.
