You will enjoy the LAV. Quick build, but if the gunner figure was included with the kit to go with the driver, it would have been better. No need to buy the standing dudes just for the gunner though. I don't recall if Tamiya sold a small PE set for this truck separately though.

that's because they were all outside. guy in my club said it was pretty slick. have one in the mail with a TYPE 96A and a late COUGAR.

i see. i did a search and stumbled across the JGSDF 4x4 lav "iraqi". i need to find it for my 5th japanese warwheel or be forced to order a TYPE 96A.

looking at the top view of this, the camoflauge works with that ground.

The Tamiya LAV is a pretty neat kit. A couple of items mystify me; one is that the lower hull was diecast metal and two is that the crew set was sold separately and was difficult to locate. The crew set only included a gunner and not a seated passenger to go along with the kit's driver. All the figures were dudes just standing around.

Yes I saw that camo firsthand over there in 2003 and I thought it was pretty effective coloring. To my eyes, the colors looked like 34079 and 30118, very low key and would blend well in a woodland environment.

That is a cool looking wheeled IFV there Wayne. I think the upcoming Tamiya Type 10 tank would make a good companion for it... ;-)

Nice build! I don't remember I have got this one or not, there're so many new kits released these days.

Looks like a finely detailed kit or you just made it look good like that.

I like the Trumpeter military kit subjects in 1/35

fun kit. the hole under the front driver's windshield was unnerving and typically the headlight/mirror assemblies are somewhat complex but the rest was straight forward. the wheels attached well as long as the mounts and holes are paint free. painted with MMA dark green over dark earth brown, lightly weathered with pastels as i wanted to show the camo pattern. silly putty mask which may leave a touch up residue if it stays on the vehicle under the 100w bulbs while drying the paint. next time will peel the silly putty off before drying.

what to start next? maybe a small 6x6 warwheel. don't think i want to mess with a truck until after nationals.
