I built this to pass the time today while glue was drying between steps on my primary project, a Tiger tank build. It comes from an Italeri German AFV accessory set that I have had for many years and sat sidelined waiting for a time like this..

It's an interesting little piece... now for how to paint it up...Hmm

Haugh, memory is so fickle--is this the squeeze-bore, or the recoil-less, rifle?

I have a nagging memory that these wound up with Fallschirmjäger & specialist units.

So, you could go with very pristine and elaborate camo schemes.

Or, a simple paint scheme that has been weathered by use by specialist units.  (Thinking about Crete and similar campaigns.)

This thing was squeeze bore, but not recoil-less. The recoil less one was typical of those, big tube, slightly bigger breech and a small wheeled mount... but yes I am thinking a three color camo scheme perhaps

That's a nice little piece, I can't say I have ever seen one of these built. The version you have there does look like the lightweight one for airborne troops. The standard one had a split trail and larger wheels. Although the light version supposable had no shield.

Not sure if these were still in production after the start of 43. Maybe you could go with a desert scheme, as there were German paratroopers in Africa

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

I decided to go with an Africa scheme. I approximated some Braun RAL 8020 using Tamiya colors and German Gray for the RAL 7021 Panzer Gray...

I will do some washes, drybrushing, and weathering during the week.

According to this website,

http://www.whq-forum.de/cms/643.0.html

the version on this carriage is the one for Falschirmjagers...

I guess that I will need some figures...

Thanks Mac N Bill. For such a little piece, that thing is growing on me... I need to check my storage unit figure stash to see what I have that may go with this.

I think I did a better job on eyeballing the Tamiya mix for Braun than I thought I did. I used the Testors bottled version of the color for touching up my little mishaps around the tires earlier today... dead on...
