Glade I could  be of help.

Lubrication guide's for the jeep and trailer were kept  there.

There was a lot of stuff issued with a vehicle about 45 to 50 different items.

Thanks, Dave. There seems to be a ton of stuff issued with these vehicles. I was also wondering about the pocket mounted under the hood (bonnet). Was it to keep vehicle maintenance records?

subfixer I just came across you're post.

Head light covers  were issued with the vehicle, they were carried under the right seat  with the windshield cover.

I've seen a lot of photos with bare head lights , British covers, some with the canvas covers, some with a coat of O.D. paint and one photo with one bare headlight and  the other one covered or painted over.

It's like gas mask's they were issued but how many photo's do you see with G.I.'s carrying them.

Could any of you guys tell me just how prevalent or how common was the use of headlight covers on jeeps, in WWII? I have seen the lights most often bare, in some pictures they are painted with a blackout slit left bare and I have seen them with canvas covers in a few rare shots. Were they issued with the vehicle?

Here is a photo of a couple of them:
