HMMWV frames are black and the body is either green or sand depending on the color the factory is painting it. Most of our heavier trucks are on green or sand frames, again depending on the contracted color the factory is producing them in.

Repainted vehicles don't get repainted frames unless the vehicles are being rebuilt.

US military softskin vehicle frames and undersides are painted forest green on NATO camo vehicles or sand on sand vehicles.

Russian/Soviet softskins are painted black on the frame and undersides.

If they are sold to another user, they can be repainted in any way that that country wants them.  Usually, the undersides are sprayed the same colors as the rest of the vehicle.

No I will not be there. I am sending my build there with a few guys from our AMPS chapter who are taking our Group Build there. We have at least 32 Tigers going, possibly as many as 50! A whole battalion worth or Tigers- all variants & versions. Tiger I, Tiger II, Tiger Porsche, Ferdinand, Elefant, Jagdtiger, Sturmtiger... it's gonna be sweet!

I think the Soviets used black  down there,,, but if youre gonna weather it the burnt umber is a good starting point for road grime.

i do a lot of armored warwheels and military trucks. i usually paint the entir frame and suspension on a truck burnt umber. just painted a BRDM and painted wheel wells and belly and differentials the same base color but would thet be. perhaps coming out of the factory they would be say russian green but when delivered to another country and repainted would they paint them. i will probably base coat everything and go back with some burnt umber. after a couple of weeks in the field wouldn't be surprised if they were down to bare metal.
