has anybody built armor from Lee ? I got two models of the British main battle tank Challenger as a gift and never hread of the company. Sad to say both kits had lot of flashing, parts not formed right or bent, not very clear instrucrtions, lousy fitting parts, did a lot of filling seams for sure! the plastic was thick, unlike the newer kits of today. the glue had a hard time setting, had to hold or band the parts together. let me just say would not buy anything from this company.
I am pretty sure that they do cloned kits.

C.C. Lee is a Chinese model company that tends to make poor motorized copies of other companies' model kits. They often use the box art from a corresponding Italeri, Academy, Tamiya or Dragon kit as their box art leading many folks to assume it is a rebox.
I've bought several 1/72 scale tank kits from them, and they all contain the exact same tracks, regardless of the type of tank it is.
Here's a link to some information about the company: http://www.scalemodelmuseum.com/others/brand/scale-model-brands-c-c-lee/#.UfNTs9LVDQo
And some discussion regarding the poor quality of Lee kits going back over a decade. http://www.network54.com/Forum/47209/thread/1114051759/What+is+the+quality+of+Lee+Models+T-55-
kind of thought so as I was putting it together, Glad I didn't buy them! dressed up one a bit, turned out not too bad, the other one built it, but did nothing else with it. set it aside for something down the road.
Informative thread and esp funny because I've had this kit in the stash for years... still sealed...
