Here's a picture of where mine was a few days ago.  Not near to finished but here it is.  I kept the "hideous Tamiya Jerry cans (they do leave a lot to be desired)" on the front but replaced the missing third handles with srtreched sprue.  Never tried the hairspray technique . . . I really couldn't give you a definition of what it is Embarrassed, all my chipping was hand brushed Pactra rust, Tamiya gun metal, and a lot of dry brushing over that with Tamiya dark yellow.  Also built a replacement mount for the portside Vickers to mount it on the lower part (nearer the driver) of the fender.  Anyway, it's still not done.  Have more pictures if you'd like to see.

I'm working on this one right now myself, almost finished.  I think yours looks good.  I think the chipping that you did looks very nice . . . especially since it's not overdone.  ajlafleche makes a couple good points though too, especially the Bren. Going back to look at the one I'm doing now to check for flaws.  Smile

Anyway, I still think yours looks great!

Good to see you replaced those hideous old Tamiya gerry cans. Nice assortment of new and old cans and some German ones as well. Nice touch with the .30 cal. That said, the chipping is not consistent with the cleanliness of the seats. There appears to be a lot of paint damaged on teh cans and body but almost none on the rims. The tires also look very clean compared to the body work.

Is the Bren gun on a pintle? If so, the field is compromised by the gerry cans nest to it. I'd also go with a darker stock on and handle on the Bren. Vallejo makes a translucent natural wood you could apply over the color you have for a very realistic wood grain. It's a little thick so the brush strokes replicate wood grain nicely.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

Hello everyone

Some model photos.

Base Kit is the old Tamiya 1/35 British Special Air Service Jeep.

Scratch built racks made from brass stock, resin and plastic bits from the spares box.

This is also my very first attempt at the Hairspray Chipping Technique.

Thanks for looking

Delbert
