Hobby Lobby has a lot of that stuff- tubes, rods, bars, etc. usually an aisle or two away from the so-called "modeling" aisle.

I will have to check later to confirm, but Micro-Mark might have what you need:

Both my local hobby stores carry them.  Especially those that cater to railroad folks.

I thought http://ksmetals.com would have it in this thin diameter but maybe not.

Try looking in an electronics supplies retailer. Look for solid wire.

Or try an arts and crafts supply store in the jewelry section.

What length do you need these in?

I need thin brass rods (0.5 mm - 1.0 mm) for detailing purposes. Where can I buy them?
