What makes this kit worth $100+

I can understand that certain PE sets alone can run $50 or more easy but ever if you can get a base model for under $50 and then add a big PE upgrade it's still under $100. Or is this the way the sets will start to come out from now on?

Lately I've been buying certain model kits with some PE to save a little money but this is a little much.

Does anyone have the kit? Is it worth the price?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not putting down this kit. I'm looking for a good Jagdtiger kit and I know I might have to get a PE set to upgrade it. So if this one has all the good parts and is worth the money then I just might buy this one.

Now that's excessive. I just checked the price on Hannants and its £54.99. Which converts to $85. That's not with the PE parts, which would probably be no more than £20. Me think someone is taking the micky. In fact theres an Aber set for the Dragon kit which include the barrel for £15.99.

I'm with Bish on this, have you checked anywhere else? I found the same kit on HobbyLink Japan for $72.84. You'll pay somewhat more for shipping and handling but still you'll come out strongly ahead. I'm not knocking Sprue Brothers, love them, and order stuff from them all the time but they're really overpriced here.

I found a few on Ebay too for a great deal less.

And if you don't have to have this specific kit the Dragon model can be found for around forty-fifty bucks or so at HLJ, DragonUSAonline  and I'm certain other places.

Now that works out cheaper than the Hannants one which doesn't have the PE.

Save yourself the money and get one of Dragon's latest with the molded on zimmerit. It will be a fraction of the cost.

It has the Tamiya name on it. That alone will propel some modelers to bypass the superior, highly detailed, cheaper Dragon armor kit sitting next to that Tamiya kit of the same subject.
