Tiger I "what the heck is it" part.
Posted by New Hampshire on Friday, August 23, 2013 5:20 PM

I am in the process of hand painting the tools and tow wires on the Dragon Tiger I late/final and I have one part that is perplexing me as to it's purpose and if it should be painted or not (and if so what color.)  Specifically it is part P29, but since I am sure no one has the parts numbers for this kit memorized ( Big Smile ) it is the "tool" that is latched to the deck right next to the antenna stub on the right side, middle rear.  It looks like some kind of pipes connected into a right angle and with some kind of cap on the end.  I assume it is a tool because it uses latches like the other tools.  Dragon's instructions barely even show it being placed, let alone painting instructions.  I have scanned a slew of Tiger I walkarounds and try as I might I can't find a picture of the "tool" in question.  If I have to I can get some pictures of the part taken and posted later.  All I need to know is what it is supposed to be painted to look like...metal?  Wood?  Base color?  Anything at this point is better than nothing.

Can't be certain by the description, but given the location, could it be the fire extinguisher?

Nope, I can say 100% not a fire extinguisher.  It basically looks like 2 pipes or wooden handles connected together to form a right angle.  If I didn't know any better I would say it looked like a handle to the jack (I know it is not since the jack already has the handle on it Big Smile ) but it could be a crank of some kind for something....but what I do not know.

Engine starter crank?

At about 1:37 of the video you can see it after it is removed.

The rest of it is at the bottom of the rear wall.
