Certainly appreciate the input regarding the Leopold. Makes for a nice New Years present. Thanks again.

Probably the Panzer Gray, or possibly RLM 66 Schwartzgrau. In the way that Olive Drab was the U.S. "Army color", Panzergrau, which according to Tony Greenland is called Schwqrtzgrau in official documents, was the "Wehrmacht Heer color" early in the war. He suggests that most out of the bottle paints need to have some blue added to get the tone right.

As I understand it, the Reichsbahn was responsible for all military trains, weapons and rolling stock during WWII. They had two shades of grey paint. Eisengrau (iron grey) and Schwartzgrau (black gray). I guess a dark shade of the Model Master Gray?

Although I mainly do modern aircraft, I recently acquired Hasegawa's German Leopold railway gun in 1/72nd. I would like to do this gun in one of the suggested paint schemes which calls for it to be painted in "German Gray". I note that my favorite hobby store carries a number of Testors Model Master "German Gray" paints. Does anyone have any ideas on which of the variety of Model Master paints would best match the original paint scheme?
