Vicers Mk A
Posted by tweety1 on Sunday, February 22, 2004 3:32 AM
Here's a good one.

I recently was given an RPM model from Poland.

Vicers Mk A 1/35 scale. Tiny little thing it is. Twin gun turrets etc.

Anyways, to my horror, there are no tracks in the kit, which explains why it was a freebie, 2 for 1 deal from Squadron.

Now I have tried to find the original part from the manufacturer, but Polish is one language I do not speak, so dead end there.

So I figured aftermarket, but being new to the armour model game, I would not have a clue as where to start looking, or what to look for.

Would one of the more knowledgable armour folks be able to give me a poke in the right direction please. As a kit it's not too bad, good detail, and would be a nice weekender to complete, aside from the tracks.

Thanks in advance.Smile [:)]

oohh.. Umm, maybe Fruilmodel or Modelkasten have some tracks for you. These are seperate links with hinge pins, so they'll hang nice and realistic too.

Sorry to hear about that Tweety1. The tracks Michael has mentioned are good. Did you try to contact Squadron they might let you send the kit back and get one with tracks.

I checked my very outdated list of Fruil tracks and the only one I find you may be able to use is a set for the T-26. It was based ona vickers design and the suspension is very similar, but I don't know if the tracks are the same. Anyway, the Fruil set will run you about $28 US, I don't know if you want to spend that much on a "free" kit.

RPM sells single link tracks for the kit. The box is marked as tracks for the 7TP, T-26 and Vickers. I have a set that I plan on replacing the vinyl tracks on the Maquette (Zvezda) T-26-4 tank that I have.
