Not sure, the one I have in 1/35th has both the tractor and the trailer and I believe there is also a  version with only the tractor without the trailer. Maybe someone else knows more?

The M26 Armored Tank Recovery Vehicle kit does not include the trailer.  It only has the tractor.  It also includes a new sprue with some tools and other accessories plus a couple figures.

Yes I know about the trailer but can the "A arm" be raised on that kit as well?

Yes, the truck in the full kit is the same and has the same functionality as the one in the M26 Recovery Vehicle kit.

The actual vehicles were exactly the same--excepting the sorts of differences the crews bring to such things.  Although, it'd be interesting to track down a unit history and see how actual operations differred from the tasks set to the TO&E

Like Gino says, the truck portion of both kits are identical. One kit includes the trailer and the other kit doesn't.

Thanks. I thought I read somewhere the recovery vehicle kit had something the other does not.

It does, it has a sprue "S" that the full kit does not. It includes the two standing figures and the oxy-acetylene welding tanks dismounted from the truck (the full kit's tanks are molded mounted in the racks). It includes a new part for the front tow bar with an open clasp. The full kit's tow bar part is molded closed.

The A-frame gets positionable support arms (those two long pieces with the multiple holes) and pins.
