It's probably one of the better movies I've ever seen that features a tank as the main "prop", plus it's an ex-Israeli example as well.
I think I bought the DVD at a "Movie Trading Company" store here in Dallas.

I picked up the Beast for cheap years ago on DVD. Watched it most recently with a buddy of mine after he come home from there with a tour in SF. He loved it- he was all into the tribal aspect of it as he had worked alot with them and really seemed to have learned alot about them and respected them.

wow " The Beast " i haven't seen that movie in years, looked everywhere i can think of but have never found it, my search continues. awesome insperation for a red dio.
we're modelers it's what we do
The plot outline sounds a little on the "Hollywood-ish" side, but at least they're using a tank that's pretty close to being historically accurate.
I'll probably go see it, than come home and watch "The Beast" or "Kelly's Heroes" to put it all in perspective.
I thought that looked like Brad Pitt (with the long boots) and Michael Pena beneath him. Hope it is better that 'Inglorious Basterds'.
If it's a movie, it's not a reference. It might be an inspiration to create a diorama or to provide a paint scheme, but it's not a reference any more that a model is a reference. Original sources and archival footage and photos are primary references. History books that use those references are secondary references. Anything else, including memoirs, should be taken with as big a grain of salt as you choose. Anything on the History/Discovery channels should be considered as having only a coincidental relationship to reality, And most of the internet is even worse.
Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.
Looks interesting, I'll see what you guys have to say about it when it comes out.
BTW: Picked up the South Korean movies 'TaeGukGi' (Brotherhood of War) and 'My Way'. Very good movies of the Korean view of the Korean War and World War II - plus lots of scenes that would make great ideas for modeling.

Dont worry my friend.
Have a nice day!
hmmmmm... I stand corrected! I agree with you on many of those. I was too harsh. I just have "Pearl Harbor" in my mind's eye.... yeech.
We need more "Letters From Iwo Jima" and less "Capt Corelli's Mandolin"

Here's a larger picture
Not a model. It's an M4A2 HVSS used in the filming. Plus note the tiny tab beneath the butterfly handles of the .50cal MG. No 1/35 version has ever included that part (it's called the backplate latch).
Will it become a good "historical" reference?
Ummmm--- thinking of the hundreds of WW2 movies made, name 3 that would reach this bar. While I'd likely go see "Fury", I'm not holding my breath.
Wow, wouldn't this be a great diorama setting.
At first I thought it was a model...
But is a photo of new movie called "Fury",
We cant' miss out that one out guys!!.
