Posted by pyrman64 on Saturday, October 12, 2013 9:54 PM

Anyone interested in a UN group build?

Primarily, ground vehicles (AFVs/soft skins) used by UN peacekeeping forces.... ie.

  • UNIFIL
  • IFOR
  • SFOR
  • KFOR
  • UNOC
  • UNOSOM
  • UNAMIR
  • UNMISET
  • UNPROFOR
  • UNITAF

Anyone? Anyone?...

I was thinking a December 1st start date with a 4-6 month build window.

I will say maybe... have a pretty full plate of projects right now. By January I may have cleared up enough. Have a nice KIFV for the Bos to do in my stash.

Time frame seems good for me. I have a 72nd Revell warrior the other half got me for my birthday last year. She thought it would be the same size as my normal armour, 35h (bless her). I was going to do it in normal green and black, but I am sure I can come up with a nice Bosnia scene for it, it comes with UN markings.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

I've got an Accurate Armour decal sheet of IFOR/KFOR markings I've been waiting to use on some Land Rovers, Mercedes G-Wagens, Humvees, etc....  Was just thinking earlier today how to display vehicles of different nations in a Balkans related diorama!

Hmm, I have several vehicles molded in white; I'm apprehensive about my painting skills though, but I guess I could try.

hey greg i'm in. i have enough warwheels and modern trucks. already did 2 canadian UNs (LAV-III and COUGAR). wonder if the JGSDF has any UN stuff? i know i have an iraqi humanitarion aid 4x4 but that may not fit this. can we do what if (say a PLA 6x6 as long as it has correct markings)?

hey rob acrylic white may need to be thinned more and over a primer. i did a LAV-III before i knew it was difficult to airbrush white and it turned out fine. then i saw it was hard and the next paint job on the COUGAR went south. i may be doing some white for LCVP or M-1117 this week and will let you know.

Alrighty.....looks like we should have enough interest for the 1 December 2013 start date! Yeah

Here's a link to a complete list of UN peacekeeping missions: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UN_peacekeeping_missions

*NOTE: IFOR, SFOR & KFOR will be allowed as they were peacekeeping missions in the wake of UNPROFOR.
