Johan, that is quite a volume of work in front you.

I hear you about getting deluged by research, can be real negative (time wise) when you are striving to depict one specific subject, as opposed to building something that just represents, say a regiment or general item of military history.

Hope you find some regular bench time, and look forward to something crossing the finish line.

regards,

Jack

I feel your pain Johan.  Seven months on the same Dragon Tiger I and I still have a bit more to go.  Always seems like something comes along and saps my time (work, family, etc.) which takes out the momentum.  Doing 50+ hour work weeks right now and come home so tired it is tough to motivate to sit at the bench for an hour or two.  All I can say is persist and do what is fun.  It is the best way to keep things fresh!

Hi guys,
Thank you for taking interest, much appreciated Big Smile

Scott it is not that i get bored actually, but i have been travelling on long-holes for the last 8 years being out for up to 6 month in a row so it is more that I have 2 sets of stash.
One abroad and one back home.
When I am out it is to much work and I am not home long enough to finalize stuff.
But things seem to settle down now so I will try to complete one before SC Cool

And counting the votes there is:

BTR - 2 votes
GAZ - 1 vote
T-90 - 1 vote
JGSDF or PLA - 1 vote, unfortunately I have no stash.

Right now it looks like it is going to be the BTR Stick out tongue

Very Best Regards
Johan

PS, noticed i missed the s.K 18, it is there now.

Hi wayne!

A lot of work on your hands, that flak truck will be nice to build.

Those troops jumping in the air gave me an idea for my project.

Keep modeling soldier!

See ya.

In teh clubs I belong to here, JGSDF stuff is rare, and PLA even more so....

currently have 16 PLA, 6 PLAN, 11 JGSDF and 1 JMSDF. no airplanes. probably more than all the other club members combined. and the PLA has some crazy camo schemes.

I gotta say I'm diggin the BTR. But the key is to just have a bit of enjoyment whatever you do. It sounds like you get board with your builds and then move on. Why not build something different from your norm? Remember though, just have fun!

Well I am kinda partial to the BTR and T-90 builds myself. There is never enough Soviet Cold War stuff on here

and hardly any JGSDF or PLA stuff. there are days i think i'm the only one in denver who builds them

What I have been up to lately...
Posted by JohanT on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 3:46 PM

Hi guys,
Been finding it difficult to find the right focus lately, I keep falling into the same trap over and over.
I am over-complicating things...

But here are some of the things I have been fumbling around with lately:
ICM Sd.Kfz. 70 L1500A.

Undercarriage and engine...

The wheel/tire construction is a bit funny, they are 2 part assemblies where the seam is in the middle of the tire.

Also the rim between the wheel hub and tire is missing but I can probably scrible that.

Trumpeter FlaK 37...

I am going to put it on the flatbed of MiniArts GAZ-AAA Mod 1943 (just started)

TRUMPETER s.K.18 10,5 cm Kanone

Also have the Russian BTR-40 APC by Trumpeter on a slow boiler...

Always said I do this mainly for the fun of researching and not to complete the builds but this is getting frustrating...
As I said I need to focus and complete one to break the bad circle!
...or should I start Meng's T-90?

In addition I have:
50% completed the Trumpeter T-62 mod.72
15% completed the Zvezda T-90
50% completed the Zvezda Tiger-I, turret #114 of 505
25% completed the Zvezda Tiger-1, turret #S33 of DR/101
And a few more in various stages...

Anyone out there in a similar situation, your constructive comments and suggestions are more then welcome.
Thank you for stopping by.

Best Regards
Johan
