Yes, and you deleted where I wrote about those mistakes.   Why not leave them here for others to learn from?

Because this seems to be turning into another of those "great job - best model I've ever seen" websites like there are so many of.   Pointing out the BASIC building errors that are in these kits that MM (or anyone else) posts CAN help others to build better models by showing them things that they can look for to improve on their own models.  But i guess in today world of politically correctness no one is allowed to say anything negative.  (and yes, I do say positive things about models in some posts)

Bronto - It's not about being PC. It's about keeping critiques focused on the models and not turning them into personal attacks.

Gino - The deleted comments were editorial. The only substantial critique you offered was what was left in your response to CML - that he (CML) had pointed out most of the flaws already.

Please notice that I moderated MM too, because personal attacks in response to personal attacks is not acceptable.

Keep it above the waist. If you don't like that the guy is a "collector" or that he purchases models rather than builds them, that's fine. But keep the personal attacks off the FSM Forum. Focus on the builds and keep the editorializing out of it.

"The wheels are crooked. It could have been easily avoided with a little care during building. The paint could be improved by doing X, Y, and Z. It looks as if the frame is bent--here's how that could be fixed." That's a critique. That's helpful info. Leave it at that.

Recently, we have received more than one complaint about the tenor of these threads--and not from people involved, but those happening through and reading mean, aggressive commentary. I welcome new members to the Forum every week and tell them that we have a great bunch of members who are knowledgeable and FRIENDLY. How can I write that with any amount of integrity if we have people running around telling each other that their models are "crap?" The answer is that I can't.

Frankly, I've spent the better part of a week digging through posts to find out the root of this problem extends back over 10 years and bled to the FSM Forum from another forum and should have been nipped in 2004. We don't want it continuing--that goes out to everyone, including Model Maniac.

Please stop.

Sprue-ce Goose - Thanks for your kind compliments! I also have one without the machine gun built many years ago.

r13b20 - Thanks for your kind comments on the build!

cml - Thanks for your kind compliments! AI also uses pastel along with other techniques. He once wrote about his techniques in building the Famo & Sd.Ah.116 but my translation was not 100% correct.:

I quite like this one - especially the weathering, I think AI did a pretty good job on it. MM, do you know if he used pastels for the weathering? Any ideas on his technique? One slight critique is that it seems as though the chassis may be slightly out of alignment, or at least the left rear wheel isn't on straight - but to be honest, I know I couldn't do any better.

Looks really nice!

Just purchased the kit ( Special Edition ) for 50 pct off though my version has decals for 6 versions and did not include the machine gun.

I don't know how I missed this post.

My compliments to the builder.
