Looks very well... loaded with all sorts of "toys".

I miss a figure or two... and some of the photos have a bright light on them, so details cannot been seen..

But ALL looks very detailed, how did you made the rope in the front part?, did it came with the kit?

AWESOME!!

It should have. VERY nice. I was gonna pick a nit about tire tracks, but she just got set there by a jolly green I suppose. Seriously good from all angles.

Thanks, Stik.

The kit took a first in the Scratch, vac and Conversion armor class at Baycon yesterday.

Thanks, guys.

Gino, I'll have to consider the possible anachronism and size issue of the boxes but it's good info for any future projects.

It came out great.  I love the loaded look of it.  Two small nitt-pics though.  The MRE boxes in the back are the old-style, flat boxes which have not been in use since the early '90s.  The new boxes are more square and come in the Tamiya Modern US Military Equipment set (266).  Second, the water bottle box looks way too big.  It should be less than a half-inch cube.

Completed DUMVEE
Posted by ajlafleche on Friday, November 1, 2013 10:20 PM

I have completed my attempt at a USSOCOM GMV, aka Dumvee. I don’t know the derivation of Dumvee from Humvee, but I’ve seen the term in reference to a well armed patrol vehicle used by Special Ops forces.

The parts used are as follows with paints from Vallejo and AK Interactive. Weathering was done with AK products and old school pastel chalks. The wheels were designed to be used with a Tamiya Humvee and have posts in the wheels. The Academy kit has posts on the drive shafts. I had to remove the posts and drill holes to accommodate the wheels. This allowed me to adjust the holes to get thewheels level. Unfortunately, when applying the ground work, I added more water than I normally would so the surface would be easier to work. This caused the first warped base on decades. That meant the nice level wheel, needed to be shored up from below with more ballast, epoxy glue, water effects and othe products.
