Tamiya BIG Humvee newbie introduction
Posted by crispy and the rocketman on Thursday, November 14, 2013 7:41 AM

Hi Guys

Newbie to the forum thought I'd show the latest production by way of introduction. Just getting back into modelling after three years out due to plastic burn out!

For my return I wanted to get back to my original passion of big scale r/c armor and I had Tamiya's 1/12 rather uninteresting r/c Humvee and a copy of Generation Kill in the dvd rack. Whats a guy to do when hes laid up for three weeks after a knee op eh? Plasticard was used for the bolt on armor, resin stowage was cast and the beastie has working headlight turn indicators and brake lights. Tow shackles wading exhausts wiper blades, tons of extras were added.  So much was added it sank on its shocks first time out so extra strong springs were needed. Hope you like, if you do theres more on the bench I can show........

Looks like a fun way to get back to the bench. I'm not familiar with this Tamiya model but from what you describe as adding to it. Your improvements look good and consistent.

What did you use for the black foam mats?

I also purchased a copy of GenKill on DVD. I like that mini series

Hope your knee is healing well Smile

Thanks guys

Do you know the most difficult thing was to keep the two scantily clad pole dancers out of shot!
We rocked up on this deserted beach and started taking pictures. Couldn't believe if when this old guy, two girls and a portable dance pole turn up and do a altogether different model shoot in our eye line!!!!
