The Duke Finishes Two More...
Posted by Duke Maddog on Thursday, December 19, 2013 12:57 PM

I just finished up a couple more small vehicles that I'd been working on. This brings me up to 644 small scale vehicles completed.

First is the ACE 1/72 scale Russian GAZ M-415 pickup that you saw in the Works in Progress Thread. This is finally finished and Boy am I glad!

The glue on the windows is still wet in these pics. It has since dried nice and clear. Hmmm, looks like I forgot to unmask the back window.... Easy fix.

Next up is another ACE model: The French Traction Avant done up as a French Staff Car:

And just for kicks, here is a shot of all the small scale vehicle models I completed after finishing the Dora:

I thought I'd throw that in for fun.  Thanks everyone for looking, comments are welcome.

Thanks guys!

Tojo, I just threw that on there to experiment; I wanted to make it look 'rode hard and put away wet'.

Carlos, yeah. All these softskins are for a Softskin Group Build on the Missing Lynx Braille Scale Forums. It just ended this week and the bottom pic shows all my submissions for that Group Build.

Thanks Gamera. I've built so many other types of combat models; it feels good to do something like these.

Carlos, yeah; I finished Dora in October. She did kind of burn me out a bit on modeling; especially since I've had to pull her out three or four times to fix issues that were found at some local contests. I did these little things to 'cool down' as it were. Doing them for the Group Build kept me motivated to get them finished.

Thanks again for the great comments guys! Carlos, I'll hopefully see you at the IPMS Meeting tonight!

Yes, I will be at IPMS tonite. See you there my freind. If you need a Group Build to keep you motivated, I am running a Latin American Aircraft Group Build here until May, and you are more than welcome to join. Any aircraft, any scale, including what ifs, built in the markings of a Latin American Air Arm.

Excellent. I'll think about the Latin American Group Build. I'm about to start four other Group Builds on another Forums but I may have time by May. We'll see.

Nice collection! I still have some 1:72 kits from Ace unbuilt, such as US Staff Car and German Kfz.21.

Excellent! I built both of those some time ago. Here is what they look like completed:

Kfz 21, very dirty from Rommel driving it around:

Ford Staff Car, kept clean for the brass:

I hope you like them too.

Yeah, it felt great to get them all done. I wanted something small and simple to work on after the Dora, and these pretty much fit the bill. I now have a huge collection of softskin vehicles; I'll have to take a large Group Picture someday.

Thanks for the compliments guys, I appreciate them very much.
