For those who were waiting for this, sorry for the delay. I had hoped to start in in Nov, but as usual things didn't work out that way.

Finally made a start on the 88 yesterday. Looking at the kit, there is certainly room for some improvement. In the main, I need to make handles for the hand wheels, the kit ones are just small stub's. I also need to add some bolts in a few places, not sure how yet, I don't have a punch and die set, so going to have to try and make them by hand. The panoramic Telescope which sits in the recuperator is very poorly details. But this was covered when not in use, so I am going to try and make one of those.

The biggest issue is that the barrel has no rifling. So the two options are to try and rifle it or make a cover. I think option two is the most likely.

So far I have assembled the barrel and the cradle, I won't be putting the two together until after painting.

This give an idea of how big this is, the barrel is over 10inches long.

That's it for now. Going to try and add those missing details and start on the pedestal.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so
