In built the M-41 and the Ontos from Renwal. I have the Duster stashed somewhere. You're correct about the kits' suspensions. They're still out there on eBay, but they get expensive there.

The Renwal kit is probably it. The did the M41 and M42 with those little spring suspension arms. Revell acquired their molds and released many of the old Renwal kits in the mid 1980s. When they released the M41 Walker Bulldog and M42 Twin Forty (Duster), they omitted the springs. Revell of Germany (using the Matchbox label) recently reissued the M41 around 1998 or so.

I still have a Revell and a couple of the original Renwal M42 kits. I think I gave away the Bulldog, but kept the M47 Patton tank. I know I still have the Revell History Makers version of the M55 Self-propelled howitizer too. When I was a kid, the Renwal kits were the "serious" models that had real working tracks, hatches, suspension, etc.

Oh yeah, got a pair of the M50 Ontos recoilless rifle tracks as well. All of thse kits were 1/32 or as they listed it ΒΌ"=1'.

Renwal models made an M41 in 1/32? (not really sure on scale) , but the kit had metal springs for each roadwheel. I remember building one a LONG time ago. Not a bad kit detail wise for that time.
