Tamiya's 1/35 PzKpfw Ausf.L

Thanks to suddenly being without a job, I have a lot of time to catch up on some modeling:)  This is my latest completion of the Tamiya kit.  Built it out of the box except for the antenna which is a section of modeling wire.  Painted with Vallejo accrylics and weathered with oils.  The mud was a mix of Liquitex medium, some flour (no plaster on hand), water, and some flat earth color.  Also some rust wash with Testors enamel rust thinned way down.

Nice looking build. How did it go together, I have the same kit in the stash, so would be nice toi know if there's any thing to watch out for.

Bish;

The only two things that "hurt" me were:

1.  Those little braces that go over the top of the winch/jack are very small and I had to do a couple of re-glue attempts.

2.  My main hull (top section) was a little warped and it didn't mate as well as it could have.  I put the tracks on first before the top section of the hull so it was delicate to try to get it to hold but dry-fitting told me it was coming so I wasn't surprised.

I don't mind the rubberband tracks, but some folks I am reading don't care for them.  I didn't put on the spare track link section on the front either, but that was just my choice.  The Tamiya ones build really easily.

Disastermaster;

I will give Phototbucket a try.  I clikced on the little "Insert Image" button and copied and pasted the link.   It showed me the text link (but no photo), and wen I clicked Post everything was gone.  Did I do that correctly?

I will look out for those. I will be adding AM to mine, including PE and as for the tracks, I replace all my rubber bands with Fruils, so no, I am not a real fan.

It does sound like your doing everything right to post your pics.

Great looking tank !

I really like the camouflage pattern. I'm always amazed at how OOTB builds are sometimes.

I also like your Bf109 in the following pictures (the first one is awesome)

Bish;

I would like to try a set of Fruils, but they are more than I want to spend at this point.  I read that they are lots of work too, but they do look awesome.  I have a couple of Tiger I that I want to do, so maybe later.

Jay;

Thank you for your kind words.  Those 109s were OOB too.  I am going to endeavor on an Eduard 1/48 Fw-190 that has some PE and that should be interesting as I have no used them before.

They are expensive, that's the only thing that's stopped me replacing my magic tracks with them, but all the kits in the stash with rubber band tracks I have Fruils for, over 30 sets at the moment.

They can require a bit of work, sometimes the holes need cleaning out. But I would say they are no more time consuming than magic tracks.
