That makes sense. I guess I tend to stick to the instructions a little more with armor than aircraft as I have less experience with them. Thanks for the tip!

I leave the drive sprockets off the tank until the end of construction. I put the idler wheels on, the road wheels on, glue or melt the track ends together (Tamiya or Trumpeter kits), put the tracks on the tank, then insert the drive sprockets into the track and then glue the sprockets into place on the kit. It's a lot easier than glueing the wheels into place and then struggling to get the drive sprocket teeth into the tracks without breaking a road wheel. Hope this helps.

Tank Treads 101 ?

I don't make many tank kits, but I'm starting to get into them more.

One problem I have had in the past, and still have to this day, is with the flexible tank treads provided in most kits. These are the kind that come as one piece, and wrap around the 'wheels' to be 'melted/welded' together.

This is easily the most frustrating part of the kit for me. Honestly, I hate this part.

Anybody have any tips on how they do it? I'm assuming with practice I'll get better at it, but it's pretty frustrating right now.
