1/35 HMMWVs are all over the place in many variants. SWAT trucks are another matter. I cant recall ever seeing one in injection molded plastic in any scale. You may want to start with an MRAP kit and go from there. A few departments are getting those as excess surplus and using them for their SWAT armored vehicle. Or some agencies have variants of the Cadillac V-100 family that Hobbyboss makes in 1/35.

Legends makes resin stuff and is quite pricey.

JP: both Academy & Bronto make up-armored Humvees but they're in the $50+USD range.  I'm currently working on an AVGP Cougar in RCMP markings.  Also, several LE/SO departments use M113s, M20s, M706/V100 armored vehicles.  A quick Google image search for police or sheriff armored vehicles will give you plenty of ideas. The unfortunate thing is that the model companies are releasing these kits in 1/35 only.

The only 1/25 scale Humvee I know of is the SnapTite Revell kit.

General plastic kit is not too bad looking considering it is Snap Tite.

Unfortunately, the tires are not very good.Crying

All the 1/35 MRAP kits are going for twice that much new. If you look around second hand you may find one in your price range. Good luck on your search.

What Stikpusher said. The MRAP kits are new and will remain close to retail  for some time. You're only hope would be to try to find one from a vendor at a show cleaning out his stash. Even Ebay is selling near retail plus shipping.

Given your $30 budget, you can probably find any number of HMMWVs from Academy or Italeri in 1/35. From what I've seen , however, these don't provide enough space for a SWAT team and their equipment. Most use vehicles in the range of the Maxx Pro. Kinetic has one coming out in the not too distant future. It's on pre-order from Lucky Model.com. However, it is listing at $40 plus postage, again, just about twice your stated budget.

Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.

I've been buying armor and aircraft kits ( usually kits no longer in greatest demand  - a few years old ) at swap meet lately for a lot less than new prices.......unfortunately, that strategy only works if swap meets occur in your area.

I don't care if the kit is not a new mold with all the latest gizmos so long as it was considered a very good kit at time of release. Since I only re-entered the hobby in 2010, the kits are new to me.

As for the Revell 1/25 Snap Tite Humvee.....price at Hobby Lobby after 40 pct discount is roughly $10 plus tax.

For that price, I will try modifying the kit by cutting out the doors and making replacements...so long as I can obtain decent photos of how a real door structure appears.

Not sure what I will do about the tires, though.Hmm
