Pinning Tracks in 1/72
Posted by fullmetal2011 on Thursday, February 6, 2014 2:19 PM

Hello all

Just a quick question for you all.  Im wanting to pin the tracks on a Dragon King Tiger Kit (which is a nice kitr to work with) to get the look of sag in the tracks.  Was wondering what size dia. an type of rod would work best?  I know that once you get the primer an paintied the rods will disappear.  Thanks for the suggestions in advance.

Also does any one know if they actually make metal replacement tracks for 1/72 scale tanks?  or even replacement segment piece by piece plastic tracks like in the Panzer I esci kit?  I dont mind at all working with those tracks.  Unlike some of the godly poor plastic and rubber band tracks some kit makers make.

Hello.

I use the thinnest pins I can find in craft supplies.  Drill a small hole on the hull where the pin goes in first then push the track down and force the pin in the hole.

Hope this helps.
