Panther Type G zimmerit?
Posted by pathvet9 on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 4:33 PM

Our AMPS local club are starting a group build of 1:48 Panthers using the Tamiya 32520 kit (not the early version). I have been told very few Panthers had zimmerit.

Does anyone have pictures to prove/disprove that assertion? If so, who has? Cavalier zimmerit is for the early  version Panther G.

Thanks in advance. Stick out tongue

Cheers, Jake

Yes, Zimmerit was no longer required after Sept 1944 so most lste type Panther G's chin mantlet and raised heating fans would be very unlikly to have Zimmerit.

I have the Kagero Panther TopColors book and it has a few late model Type Gs which have no Zimmerit.  I wanna say they rolled off the production line in very late 1944/early 1945 so they would be out of that window. But a few did have the steel road wheels used on the King Tiger.
