Hey!

Finally some fun...this is my next project.

I do not have a tank with that awesome desert color, definitely will be built in this color.

Im thinking on some PE and some additional IDF figures.

No hurries, will take my time and enjoy it Wink

A few quick questions on this kit: which version is this Merkava, I, II, or III? And, does thIs kit have Tamiya's rubber tracks?

Interested in seeing what you do with it.

Klik,

It's a Mk.1 and yes, it has the old-style Tamiya vinyl tracks. It's a fun build though, and pretty much falls together.

Yep, you are right is version I and does has the rubber tracks.

I will put in on hold until an Eduard PE I ordered arrives, definitely will improve details and also will fill the turret basket with gear (boxes, cammo net, backpacks) and maybe get and IDF figure from Meng.

I have a question... I was looking into some pictures and it seems they put some kind of anti slippering sand grain all over it. Is this actually something they put on? for battle? or was it put in this museum so people could climb on it and would not fall?? Huh?

Garzonh, are you recommending PE then for the kit? (I've been eying it off for a while live the turret shape).

It depends on what period you plan to depict. When the Mk.I's went into Lebanon in 1982, non slip was really not in use. That came along later. Looking at photos of them during the fighting, not all had the ball and chain off the bustle rack either. That's a great older kit. The only Merkavas that went head to head with the T-72.

I just ordered it, will take a couple of weeks to arrive.

Being from Eduard, Im sure it will improve the details a lot, there's a picture of the kit with the PE assembled and looks awesome. Im sure it will be a nice improve.

I will keep updating this post as I start to assembly and use the PE.

Thank you for stoping by.

Thank you stik!

I will build it as an early Merkava, no chains and  balls on the turret. but will add more figures and set it for a desert use, weathering environment,...fingers crossed it will come out as I imagine.
