First off I don't have a camera....Yet. so no pics, for now. I do have a problem, and maybe, just maybe some of you fine people, can help. I have some pictures of this beast, all I could find on the net. I'm trying to build the heat shield under the rear of the turret, and the jettisonable fuel system mounted on the rear bulkhead like the old M-48A1. I need more pics, of these so I can build them. I don't know what the top of the rack looks like, and the frame. Or where the fuel lines run to. For the heat shield I need to know how many rivets are used to mount it. Need help. TIA.

The Hunnicut book "Firepower" has the pictures you are looking for.

Where and how much?  I've heard that this brand of books are quite pricey.  Thanks for the info though.

I checked the Osprey M103 book by Kenneth Estes, and it doesn't have photos of what you need so that's a dead end.

While this tank is an M103A2 and does not have what you're looking for, it may be of some use to you; it has great walkaround photos of the tank.

I have all of those, and prime portal , and a few others. Thank you though for the suggestion. What to do, what to do.

That's for a used copy.  New ones are over 400.  Kinda closer to 500. Can't see it, to detail a 65.00 dollar kit.

I was just back in the States for my officer advanced course at Fort Knox when I first saw the Hunnicutt Patton and Firepower books. They retailed for $99 at the Armor School Bookstore and I could not see paying that much for one back then. And that was when I was a single guy with several months worth of unused pay (that new fangled direct deposit was fairly useless when you are in a desert with no banks nearby).

I do wish I'd bought them back then though.

I guess I look at research material a little different.  I don't look at it as just to detail one kit.  I look at it as paying to have the research material for life, for whatever project that comes up I am required to build, and also as an investment into my own knowledge on the subjects.  (That being said, if you're finding those prices on Amazon, they always have stupid high prices on used books like those.)

I totally agree your  reasoning.  Believe me I used to have an extensive collection of books.  (Until divorce.) And would pay for the knowledge.  But you have to admit, that is some expensive knowledge. And yes it was Amazon. By the way, the collection is slowly growing once more.

I would not even consider books of this price for my bucket list. I would rather just build the model.

WOW!, not sure why it was part of the deal. I assumed it would be yours to keep. Was it for space reasons?...just curious, no offense.

Wasn't part of the deal.  She took everything in the house BEFORE, everything was final.  Was told to return stuff, but it was already sold, destroyed, or given away.  From what I understand there was quite the "airshow off her balconey, with my aircraft.  But enough about that. LOL!!!!
