M561 Gamma Goat
Posted by qmiester on Thursday, February 27, 2014 5:39 PM
I herded a Gamma Goat around for a number of years before my unit got the Humvee and have decided that I'm going to make the Tamiya kit my next purchase. Have a couple of problems though. The first isn't really that much of a problem. The kit apparently has a driver with the Kevlar "Fritz" helmet - just going to swap heads (duh). The other is a little less easy to correct. The only time that the canvas covers (covering the drivers position and the cargo area on the aft end) were off the vehicles in my unit was when the vehicle was undergoing major maintenance. As the kit seems to lack any representation of the canvas parts and the support steel parts, I would like to know if anyone is producing (or planning produce) these parts. Or am I going to have scratch build those items.

A partial fix.  Legend has a Gamma Goat set that includes the canvas over the driver's area.

I don't know of any sets for the rear canvas though.  It wouldn't be too hard to construct using some wire and tissue paper and thinned white glue though.

Thanks much guys. That really helps, now if I can just find the operators and  maintenance manuals I put in storage I'll be in great shape!
