German Turret Grenade Tubes
Posted by Tankster on Thursday, March 6, 2014 3:11 PM

I have a SdKfz 234 Puma I'm almost finished with and a Premium Ed. Panther Ausf D on its way.  It has the grenade launcher tubes on the sides of the turret like most pre 1943 armor.  I'm trying to construct the electrical wire leads that run from inside the turret to the tubes themselves.

My question is:  Does anybody know if the leads go in through the sides of the turret or through the top?  I haven't been able to find any close up detail shots of this as most of the shots are of the general vehicle itself.  And I'm askign the same question about the Panther D as well since I'll be building that soon.

The lead goes in through the top of the turret just behind the part of the mounting bracket that is welded to the turret top.  The Achtung Panzer #4 on the Panther has a good drawing of this.  It was the same on the 234
