Dragon Tiger I Mid Production Winter Camo Question
Posted by Slyder69 on Friday, March 21, 2014 12:39 PM

Hi Everyone,

I'm going to build me a winter camo Tiger I Mid Prod tank from Dragon.  I will do a heavy weathered camo, but one thing I wish to add is some snow as the final touches.

I've been looking on what to use.  Do you have any suggestions?  I was looking for "Magic Snow", but it's disappeared (like magic  Big Smile )

Thanks,
Mike

I think woodland scenic makes a "snow" type product, it can be found at local hobby shops and model railroad shops. I've seen woodland products at hobby lobby and micheals, try "tacking "up your model before applying that may help to keep it "bulked up".

we're modelers it's what we do

Slyder I'm doing a Marder III for the Hunter II GB in a 3 color camo under a winter white wash. I'm going to use some Woodland Scenic snow for the fender, tracks etc. I'll post some pics and see how well it works, it may help.

The  Woodland Scenic snow looks pretty good, specially if you use a tad of Future over it to give it that sparkle of fresh snow.

Too many models to build, not enough time in a lifetime!!

I have some of the woodlands scenic snow though I have not used it yet. But my impression is that it is good for snow, (hence its name Big Smile) where as the stuff Phil showed looks good for frost and ice, so I think the two combined would be ideal. Though that's only my impression from what I have seen.

Thanks guys, I have had some others tell me about the woodland scenic snow so I'll have to look into that as well.

Jibber, looking forward to the pictures.  I'll be starting this project sometime in the summer after I finish building my Panzer III Ausf L. :)
