Looking for a MG34 aftermarket set, any suggestions?
Posted by modeler#1 on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 6:26 AM

I want to spruce up the kit parts in my model and have yet to find suitable replacements for the included turret mg and the frontal MG. they are MG 34's and will be going on an early tiger. the majority of the sets out there include a tank barrel as well which i don't need. Are there any sets which only include the MG's?

I am guessing you mean 35th scale. I use sets from Aber. These are the tips for Co-Axial guns.

And these are barrels for the hull guns.

Ye, they are indeed. I am about to fit one of the barrel tips to the turret of my Panther, I will get a close up before I fit it, then another after its in place, then you can see what it looks like.

Heres those pics. The longer barrels for the bow gun come in sets of 2, the shorter ones in 5. I am not using the bow gun on this build, but heres a couple of pics of one of each,

Sorry this one isn't to clear, but I hope you can make out the hollowed out end of the barrel's.

Heres the one I am doing after painting.

And here it is fitted, as you can see, not much sticks out.

And thanks. I had forgotten I needed to add this. Your post was a timely reminder. I hope these are useful.
