I went with the M113A2.  It definitely looks like it'll go together easy.  Anything I should watch out for accuracy wise?

That M113A2 is basically a box, very simple build if you are not trying to fully accurize it. Tamiya removed the original M113 interior and added some updated exterior parts to make it look like an M113A2 or A3. Simple paint scheme and a rather enjoyable build.

I built one several years ago and made just a couple of cosmetic changes to enhance its appearance into an M113A3. Not a difficult kit to build and a nice one to ease into.

Reviews for both can be found at Perth Military Modeling Site.

M2A2 ODS:  http://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/reviews/vehicles/tamiya/tam35264.htm

Both kits are from the early 2000s following the invasion of Iraq in '03.  Both are also upgrades (added a couple new sprues) to earlier Tamiya kits that have their roots in the '70s for the M113 and the '80s for the M2A2.  Both build pretty easily and a lot of details can be added if you desire to bring them up to current standards.

It's been a while since I've been around here last.  My TBM-3 build for the Carrier Aviation GB last year got stopped dead by the rainy season, due to my lack of an indoor airbrushing booth, and then my model shop got turned into a guest room for a few months.  I don't want to jump right back in with the Avenger, because I left it at a pretty sensitive part of the build, and I've been out of practice for 9 months, so I was thinking about building some sort of Armor.  I'm kinda on a budget right now, so I'm trying to limit myself to subjects I can get at my LHS.

They don't have much in the way of modern armor, but there's a couple that I'm leaning towards:

either the Tamiya M113A2 or the Tamiya M2A2, both in 1:35 scale.  Both kits look to be fairly newish, since they both show CID panels and desert camo on the box art.

Anyway, I couldn't find reviews for either kit, probably because they're both fairly old, so I was wondering what people around here thought of them.  I've built several Tamiya armor kits before, including a Sherman and a couple Abrams MBTs, so I know that whichever one I pick it'll go together fairly easy (the Abrams were practically snap-titeWink).  But, I also know that the Tamiyas require extensive research to get accurate.
